a different kind of photograph
I came across this the other day and felt compelled to share it here! I'll admit, it's *very* sad (so BE SURE to have tissues handy), but it is reality for some people...
Photographer Renee C. Byer of the Sacramento Bee was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for her image portrayal of Derek Madsen, and his family, as he struggles with, and eventually loses his battle with a rare form of childhood cancer. The images are raw, real, and absolutely breathtakingly beautiful...a different kind of beautiful. I just can't imagine what these photos must mean to this family...

House pics
Here are a few house pics from last week.
As of now, we have stone on the front, carpet, countertops, sinks, toilets, interior doors....they've been working hard. We moved all of our stuff into the garage and will be closing on our current house Tues morning. We are hoping to be able to move in on Thursday, so we'll be in limbo for a few days. Needless to say, it's a bit crazy around here!! :)
Enjoy the pics!

Bringing SexyBack!!!!
HOLY COW.....time flies when you're having fun...right!!
Some quick updates!
I will have house pics this weekend! We are moving right along...schedule to move in a week! The cupboards are in, the interior painted. We're painting the girls' rooms this weekend. The hardwood flooring is being installed this weekend. I peeked in the box and it looks so YUMMY! I can't wait! The green color throughout the whole first floor, well, let's just say it's GREEN, REALLY green! :) I like it though! The driveway is poured and now we're just waiting for them to START the siding and exterior. YIKES...really cutting it close!
So pics this weekend!
----------------------------
MORE IMPORTANTLY......I attended the JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE concert last night in Omaha with a girlfriend. If you ever get the chance, you MUST go!!! I would rate it as one of the top 5 things I've ever done in my life...it was just amazing! Such talent that guy has! Not really a show for kids as it revolves a lot around sexual stuff, female dancers VERY scantilly dressed, lap dances, etc...but perfect for moms!! :):) The coolest thing was...most of the crowd was probably 30 something moms. I only saw 1 or 2 kids.
PURE HOTNESS:
Pink opened the show, and she is just as awesome and talented. She released a new album in April and her voice is just incredible!! She just release her new song "Dear Mr. President"...regardless of your political views, you must listen to it!! For your viewing pleasure, I've included it below!!
Now, go, get your sexy on! :)

Well, well, well.........
Time for an update...what's new around here?
The house is still coming along. After about a 2 week delay because of the frigid temperatures they are now working again. We HAD been waiting for the roof to be put on because they couldn't begin with the drywall on the inside until that was done. They didn't want to risk the drywall getting wet. Well, with the looming deadline, and the cold weather, they decided to just go ahead and take a chance with the drywall. So the entire house is now drywalled and the mudding will begin on Monday. It's also supposed to be nice enough that a roofer will be there as well....we'll see!
We're schedule to close on this house March 20th, and hopefully (fingers crossed) our house will be done by then. We plan to move stuff the weekend before, but may have to just move into the garage for a few days and stay at a hotel or something if the house isn't ready. But we're crossing our fingers it will be!! :):)
For those that have been begging to hear what it's gonna look like on the inside....
Our whole main floor will be a dark chocolate hardwood flooring. All the trim is white. Our kitchen cabinets are a natural maple color (light), and the countertops kinda marry the dark floor to the light cabinets...they are medium neutral tones in a laminate. We will have black appliances with a stainless refrigerator. The walls....ooohhh the walls...I can't wait. The two kitchen walls will be a darker green color (in between apple green and olive green)...and the walls from the dining room and into the living room will be a lighter celery green. I think it will be really nice looking...we also have chocolate brown curtains I found from Pier 1. The powder room on the main floor will also be the darker green. My office on the main floor will just be a neutral color for now.
The upstairs hallway and master bedroom are a medium neutral brown color. Josie's room will be pink and aqua, and Haley and Olivia's room will be purple with stripes at the top. Their bathroom will be pink and I actually found some really cute bath stuff with flowers from Walmart for them.
Anywhoo...that's the jist of it!!
Other than that, the girls are doing good. Haley is still loving school and Olivia can't wait until preschool starts. Everyday she lets me know she's a "big girl" and is ready for school! I wish I could keep her home forever! She's definitely the lover of the bunch.
Josie's doing great! She's just started getting up on all fours and rocking a bit. We've just now started to make some progress with her bearing weight on her legs. She can now tolerate some weight for short periods of time, so we practice, practice, practice!!! She's getting there...slowly but surely! :)
Well, that's it I need to get to bed! I'll try to take some new pics this week! Later
